General Manager - Wendy Smith
Wendy Smith started with Meals on Wheels Pine Rivers in 2013 as a relief manager and then was appointed to the Business Manager role.
Her prior experience with Queensland Health as a home care worker and coordinator for the Aged Care sector at Caboolture is invaluable in her understanding of our clients’ needs.
In 2021, Wendy was engaged as the General Manager of Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region and has led the team through the amalgamation of the services successfully.

Kate Vromans – President
Kate has been volunteering with Meals on Wheels since 2016. Kate was the Board of Management Secretary of Meals on Wheels Pine Rivers from 2016-2021, and is the inaugural President of Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region, holding the position from 2021 until present.
Kate has held multiple roles in both Commonwealth and State Government and is currently a senior advisor in a Queensland State Government department.
Kate has lived in the Moreton Bay Region since childhood, with a few periods spent in North Queensland and other regional areas, and loves working for her community.
Terry Chittick – Vice-President
Terry Chittick has dedicated over 40 years to various businesses, including Electrical, Furniture, and Musical Instruments. He’s served on numerous boards, notably as President of Skate Queensland. After stepping back from work due to illness, he turned to Meals on Wheels to stay active and give back to the community. Starting with the Pine Rivers service in 2016, Terry has been involved in kitchen duties and meal deliveries.
He became part of the Board when Pine Rivers merged with several other services to form Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region. Serving as Board secretary for 18 months, he enjoys tackling daily challenges to make life easier for clients, supplying hot meals, soups, and desserts. Terry finds it rewarding to receive community support and hopes his efforts positively impact the lives of clients. He aims to continue contributing to the Moreton Bay community.
Bev Brandis – Treasurer
Bev commenced with Meals on Wheels Bribie Island in November 2013 as a kitchen volunteer. She joined the committee mid 2014, taking on position of Treasurer in 2017. Since the amalgamation of services into Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region, Bev has continued as the Treasurer of Meals on Wheels Moreton Bay Region and continues to volunteer in the kitchen at Bribie Island.
herPrior to retiring to Bribie Island, she spent the last 13 years of her working career as a Primary School Principal in the Gladstone area.
Bev enjoys volunteering with Meals on Wheels immensely. She not only gets a real sense of belonging to a community but also a sense of value in giving her time.
John Roberts
John is a retired academic from Griffith University, who was born and bred in Narangba and has been living in the region for over forty years.
John has worked in theatre, radio, hospitality and banana farming. John is a long term member the Narangba Progress Association, Caboolture Historical Society, Caboolture Show Society, and a variety of environmental groups.
John has been volunteering for Meals on Wheels since 2021 and a member of the Moreton Bay Board since 2022.
Ann Pickering
Ann joined the Burpengary branch of Meals on Wheels in Easter 2017 as a kitchen hand. In January 2019, she began cooking and shopping for the branch. As Branch President at the time, Ann was part of the committee formed to merge Caboolture, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Petrie, and Samford. When the merger to Moreton Bay Meals on Wheels took place in July 2021, Ann was put on the payroll to cook meals until a chef for the branch was found, which happened at the end of October. Ann became a Board Member in November 2021.
Prior to her involvement with Meals on Wheels, Ann worked as a Midwife and in Aged Care. She left nursing to help her husband in a supermarket and delicatessen, and they went on to run a Shell wholesale fuel business and a Service Station for 10 years. After that, they had a Commercial Landscaping business in Cairns until their retirement in 2014. Currently, they live in Narangba.
