December brings a chance for our Moreton Bay community to come together in a small but meaningful way. This month, Meals On Wheels Moreton Bay Region has been chosen by Grill’d as one of the Local Matters causes at the Grill’d restaurant in Burpengary. When you visit Grill’d this December and place your order, you can cast a vote for Meals On Wheels Moreton Bay Region.
What is Local Matters, and why does it matter
Local Matters is a community donation program run by Grill’d. Each month, every Grill’d restaurant picks three local not-for-profit organisations or community groups to support. Every time a customer orders at Grill’d, they receive a token to vote for the cause they care about. At the end of the month, the cause with the most votes at that restaurant receives the biggest part of the donation pot.
Since the program began in 2011, Grill’d has donated millions of dollars to thousands of local community groups across Australia. Local Matters transforms a simple lunch or dinner outing into a tangible act of community support. For December, Grill’d Burpengary’s Local Matters campaign is supporting Meals On Wheels Moreton Bay Region. That means if enough of us show up and vote, we can make a real difference in the lives of older and vulnerable people across our region.

Why December support makes a real difference
December is a busy time. For many, December brings gatherings, celebrations, family visits and festive food. But for some in our community, December can highlight loneliness, isolation or hardship. For elderly people or those with limited mobility, being able to rely on a hot, nutritious meal and a friendly visit can make a big difference.
Through your support at Grill’d, we can help ensure that no one in our region misses out on a proper meal or a bit of human contact this month. Meals On Wheels Moreton Bay Region delivers more than meals. They deliver dignity, comfort and a sense of belonging. They help people retain their independence and stay connected to the community.
The donation from Local Matters could help Meals On Wheels deliver more meals, reach more people, or improve and expand its services. It could mean someone’s day is brighter, their hunger satisfied, and their sense of isolation eased.
How else can you support Meals On Wheels Moreton Bay Region?
